OPTION #1:Create online content for the library’s social media page. Choose an option below.

Send your submissions to:

  • Create a 1-3-minute video demonstrating crafts, recipes, etc. or give a book/movie/music review
    • Earn 2 hours for every video we accept!

  • Write a book or movie review and design a social media graphic to go along with it (staff can assist with graphic drafts)
    • Earn 1 hour for every graphic we accept!

NOTE: Content must be family-friendly and workplace appropriate. Military sponsor will be required to sign an 
FSS Media Release Form Authorization  for each item submitted.

OPTION #2:Help make documents accessible and searchable through transcription projects. Choose an option below.

Send an email your name, age, and the project you completed as well as a PICTURE of your project. You will not get credit without a picture. Each project will earn 1 hour and you can complete multiple projects.

  • By the People
    • Help the Library of Congress transcribe (type out) documents to make them easier to access and search.

  • Smithsonian Digital Volunteers: Transcription Center
    • Assist the Smithsonian by transcribing (typing out) historical documents and biodiversity data to make them more accessible. Must be at least 14 years old to volunteer on this project.
